Our first home exchange, July 2010 to Sedona.

We’d met Nat and Paul in Sedona a few years earlier and struck up a long conversation about home exchanging, not difficult to do with Paul as he says “there are no strangers, just people you haven’t met yet”. Anyway we exchange details and they more or less sold us on the idea.

July 2010 we fly to Las Vegas and then drive up to Sedona. There we are on the 3rd July 2010. Home exchange virgins driving down their road with a certain amount of trepidation. What will it be like? Will we get on with them, they were meeting and greeting us?

Suffice it to say we had a great time. They were friendly and we were amazed at how much we had in common. Made us feel at home straight away. It was as if we’d known them forever. We had dinner at their home that night. We took them to the World Famous Prescott Rodeo on July 4th and they left us to it for two weeks the following day. Really good having that meet and greet and orientation. Can highly recommend it if at all possible.

Their home was stunning. Right in red rock country with awesome views of Court House rock. We had two awesome weeks exploring Sedona. We hadn’t done a car exchange, had a Hertz mobile.

That was it it we’re hooked on Home exchanging for life. Since then Nat and Paul have been to our home for a month; we’ve had a further two weeks at their new place in Atascadero; they’ve come out to visit with us in Park City. None of our exchanges with them have been simultaneous. Friends for life.

Was there any problems? None what so ever. Well apart from them being responsible for getting us hooked on birding - thank you really. Our blog has full details of our two week stay.
