Blackburn

• For the all important weekly shop, her indoors, tells me there are lots of supermarkets in blackburn, but her preference is for ASDA (AKA Walmart) and Tesco, both are open 24 hours. Of the two ASDA is probably the cheapest.
• Other shopping includes the new shopping precinct, complete with a daily indoor market, and for a somewhat unusual experience there is Oswaldtwistle Mills.
• Should you feel inclined then Blackburn also has a multiplex cinema and ice rink.
• Blackburn has a museum and art gallery, Lewis textile museum (area used to be big into textiles and mills, now there are none) and the Helmshore Textile museum is well worth a visit.
• King Georges Hall for concerts, theatre and shows, and the Empire Theatre for amateur dramaitics..
• Art Collge - splendid victorian building well worth viewing.
• Blackburn cathedral.
• If you are into football the Blackburn Rovers, at the time of writing in the Premier Division, is one of the oldest football clubs in England.
• Blackburn parks.
