Wow what a luxury condo, overlooking the Mississippi river and within walking distance of the Minneapolis and the Guthrie theatre thanks to Birdie and Kim. Place is awesome with tip top furnishing, hifi, wifi and even Apple TV. On top of that we get a full sized Lexus to swan around in.
We were a bit apprehensive about stopping in a big city as we’re really just simple country folk. But glad to say we really enjoyed it. Great fun to sit on the balcony and people watch. There was always something going on. A sophisticated city made all the better with the bikes provided, the superb bike routes and bike motorways through the city complete with on and off ramps. Guthrie theatre was a real treat. Weather was hot and fortunately the state bird of Minnesota, the mosquito, was not around.
We make a side trip to the source of the Mississippi, the object of our road trip up the Mississippi. It all starts at Lake Atasca and we both take great delight in wading across and using the stepping stones.
