What an awesome place Marco Island is. A luxury paradise and at this time of year the temperature is just right.
We have a whole month here on a Home Exchange. Staying a month is great because you really get a feel for the place. Not just a lovely house, but car, pool, jacuzzi, bikes, kayak, our own dock and even a motor boat to go with it. What a treat this place was. A bit nervous of the boat at first. It's 40+ years since I'd driven one. But Captain Pugwash and his faitffull moll, complete with lifejacket, soon got the hang of it.
We'd nip round to the pub for lunch in the boat. Mind you parking it, against the current, must have provided endless amusement to the locals. Daily trips to Starbucks on the bikes were a joy and even the weekly farmers market was worth a look. Then I'd get to go off Kayaking, but even though it was a 2 seaterwith life jackets, I couldn't tempt Wendy. Plenty to see and do, including a local theatre, and Naples was not far away for the sophistication of Apple stores etc.
